Tuition, room, and board may be the largest line items for college students but they are far from the only costs of higher education. College students need to outfit their dorms, buy books for classes, and pay for transportation to and from college. They may also need to buy boots or a heavier jacket if they attend school in a cold climate or clothes for an internship.
Fortunately, numerous companies offer student discounts to help teens (and their parents) feel a tiny bit less pain whenever they swipe their credit cards.
We compiled the following list (click the links for specific details) but know there are countless others that extend this financial perk to college students. Remember, as the saying goes, “If you don’t ask, you don’t get!” Students should always ask at the register for a discount with a college ID in hand.
