Got Your Prom Dress? Got TikTok? These Seniors Had Fun

Everybody, yes everybody, is using TikTok these days. The platform which was once reserved for young teens has become an outlet for teens and adults alike who are participating in TikTok dance challenges in record numbers.

High school senior Alex Carr saw a TikTok that someone made.

Virtual Prom in Scott County

Teens in Scott County made the most of it when their prom was cancelled due to COVID-19. #TeamKentucky*LEX 18 does not own the rights to this music.

Here’s the one Alex saw.

So Alex got the idea to do one with her friends who, sadly, had prom dresses hanging in their closets that would go unworn. Why not have a little fun with the situation?

Each girl did their own part and then Alex combined the videos and added music. The Tiktok wasn’t that difficult to produce, but took the better part of an afternoon. The longest part was the hair and makeup.

Alex’s mom, Carolyn says that the girls, all seniors, are dealing well with the loss of prom, but are hoping that their school will offer some type of socially distancing graduation alternative.

Can you hear us cheering here at Grown and Flown, because, of course, we love the TikTok but even more than that we love the girls’ successful effort to make lemonade from lemons.
