Allison Slater Tate is a freelance writer and editor in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Director of College Counseling at an independent day school. She has four children ranging in age from college graduate to high school student. She bears all the scars –– emotional and physical –– that come with having raised them, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
